Bormio and Alta Valtellina ski areas
SKI AREA BORMIO
Bormio is one of the most well-known ski resorts of the Alps.
In 1985 and 2005, Bormio hosted the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships and it also hosts several World Cup events on the famous Stelvio ski slope every year. With its 63% ruling gradient and a drop of 987 mt, the slope is considered one of the most spectacular and difficult in the world.
Both the Stelvio and Genziana ski slopes count on a spectacular and efficient lighting system to experience night skiing too.
The Bormio ski area is composed of 50 km of ski slopes between 1225 mt and 3012 mt altitude, 16 lifts and 20 ski slopes that meet the needs of both beginners (with ski camps and blue/easy runs) and more experienced skiers (with red and black/difficult runs).
A modern and advanced artificial snow system guarantees the perfect coverage of 90% ski runs and permits their adequate preparation and maintenance.
Want to give your holiday an extra kick full of adrenaline? Snowboarders are welcome at the well-organised and modern snow park in Bormio 2000, close to the Stella Alpina slope. The snow park offers a “superpipe” and a series of jumps and bumps for more experienced boarders and a beginners area for newbies. An audio system contributes to create an even more thrilling atmosphere.
The SIB (lift company) offers discounts and special offers throughout all winter season.

The Bormio ski area provides several shops to purchase or rent your equipment, restaurant service and mountain rescue.
A constant and efficient bus service that connects the zones of Bormio with the ski area is also available. The bus service is very important because it helps reducing the environmental and psychological impact of traffic.
ALTA VALTELLINA SKI AREA
Bormio, Livigno, Santa Caterina Valfurva and Cima Piazzi HM/San Colombano are the Alta Valtellina ski area.
225 km of downhill ski slopes, more than 80 km of cross-country ski trails, 66 lifts between 1225 mt and 3012 mt altitude and several other attractions is what the Alta Valtellina ski area offers to the great number of people who choose to spend their holidays and free time among its mountains every year.
Perfect snow is guaranteed from November to May thanks to the altitude and modern artificial snow systems.
The morphological and environmental characteristics of the Alta Valtellina ski area make of it one of the most popular mountain destinations for national and international team training as well as one of the first choices to organise events of particular importance.
